Vegetable Oil Shortbread Biscuits







Vegetable Oil Shortbread Biscuits


Ingredients


1 cup flour

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup icing sugar (powdered sugar)

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 tablespoon Cream (evaporated milk)

1 - 2 tablespoons water

Optional:  Coconut Flakes


Method


1.   Sift flour, baking powder, salt and icing sugar and blend all together.

2.   Make a well in the center, add milk, oil and 1 tablespoon water at a time until all comes together into a ball.

3.   Roll out with rolling pin and cut out to shape of choice.

4.   Place on slightly greased cookie sheet.

5.  Bake for 10 -12 minutes in a 350° oven.

Cheese Biscuits


Cheese Biscuits

Ingredients 

1 1/2 cups flour

2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

3 tablespoons sugar

4 tablespoons Crisco shortening

1/2 to 3/4 cups milk


Method

Combine and sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.  Rub in shortening until resembles bread crumbs effect.   Fold in milk until all comes together into a soft ball.  Roll out with a rolling pin until about 1 inch.  Place on cookie sheet.  Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 14 minutes.  Serve warm.

Throw Together Biscuit Scone

Wasn't feeling well for a few days.  However, felt a little better and realize I need something for breakfast in the morning.  Thought better make this now with whatever little ingredients I had on hand to have for breakfast.  Thank You .... ❤️.  About Combine 1 cup flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder and 3 tablespoons sugar (optional less or more) together,  Cut in 1 tablespoon butter, and 2 tablespoons Crisco,  Blend in little  cream and water to bring together.   Bring into a ball and flatten with hand or spatula.  Cut in fours and then again inside the fours or quarters.  Bake for approximately 15 - 20 minutes at 350°.  Cool and separate the cutting.

Cookies

 C O O K I E S










Recipe

Cookies

Ingredients

½ cup butter
½ cup vegetable shortening
1 cups sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoons vanilla
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon nutmeg
½ orange rind (approx. 2 teaspoons)
2½ cups flour

Method

1.                  Preheat oven to 350°.
2.                  Prepare and grease cookie sheets.
3.                  Sift flour, baking soda, and nutmeg together; set aside.
4.                  Cream butter and sugar.
5.                  Add eggs, vanilla and orange rind.
6.                  Add dry ingredients.
7.                  Scoop up dough with a teaspoon, roll out in the palm of your hand into a ball, place on cookie sheet and press with a sugar coated fork.
8.                  Bake for approximately 10 minutes or until done and nicely brown.
9.                  Remove immediately from baking sheet onto a wire rack.
10.              Cool completely and serve accordingly.  Store in an air tight container.

Scones

SCONES 



 





Scones
Ingredients
1 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 tablespoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons butter
1 eggs, well beaten
1/4 cup cream - Optional Cream and Water
Optional:  Raisin, Cranberries, Walnuts
Optional:  Sprinkle sugar on top prior to oven

Method
1.                  Preheat the oven to 425°.
2.                  Lightly butter a cookie sheet.
3.                  Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.  Work in the butter with your fingers or a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
4.                  Add the egg and cream and stir until blended. 
5.                  Turn out onto a lightly floured board and knead for about a minute.
6.                  Pat or roll the dough about ¾ inch thick and cut into wedges.  Optional:  Large spoonful on cookie sheet.
7.                  Place on the cookie sheet and bake for about 15 - 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Ginger Shortbread Cookies

Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup icing sugar
1/8 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ginger
1/4 cup soft butter


Method

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, ginger and salt together.  Cut in butter, until all ingredients come together.   Roll out and use cookie cutter accordingly.   Bake in 350 degrees oven, 10 - 15 minutes.  Makes approximately 8 cookies.

This recipe is a very quick recipe to make for a small portion cookies being served instead of a large portion.   Flavoring of your choice could be included in.
