What a lovely seasonal recipe! ❤️ Tropical Gingerbread would make a wonderful addition to a holiday baking collection on your blog.

I have arranged your recipe into a neat, reader-friendly blog post while keeping your original ingredients and method.

Tropical Gingerbread

A Warm and Spiced Homemade Treat

There is something special about the aroma of ginger, cinnamon and molasses baking in the kitchen. This Tropical Gingerbread is a lovely old-fashioned recipe with a rich flavour and soft texture.

It is a delightful treat to enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee, especially during the holiday season.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup shortening or margarine

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 1 cup molasses

  • 1 cup hot water

  • 1 egg

  • 2½ cups flour

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1½ teaspoons baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon ginger

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

  2. Melt the shortening and brown sugar together in a pot.

  3. Add the molasses and hot water to the melted mixture.

  4. Sift the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and ginger into a mixing bowl.

  5. Pour the shortening and molasses mixture into the dry ingredients.

  6. Beat vigorously until smooth.

  7. Add the beaten egg and stir until incorporated.

  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.

  9. Bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.

Allow to cool before cutting into squares.

A little suggestion: You could place this under a new blog collection called Holiday Recipes and Homemade Goodness, alongside your sewing and handmade gift projects.

I can also create a pretty vintage-style Tropical Gingerbread recipe card poster to accompany the blog post.

Tropical Gingerbread https://recipemarketing.blogspot.com/2012/05/tropical-gingerbread.html  Please kindly produce a card like poster of recipe and photos with blog address etc. with Christmas like theme or interior design. Thank you.

If I gave you a photo of a placemat I sewed on my sewing machine and blogged it, could the cake pictures be done similarly as the card here to a photo look? Placemat with cake being like served on top of it perhaps? https://sewingquiltingbyshirleyann.blogspot.com/2024/01/mini-christmas-quilt.html

Absolutely! ❤️ This is the kind of presentation I had in mind.

I have created a Christmas-inspired serving photograph featuring your red-and-white handmade Christmas placemat, with Tropical Gingerbread served on top.

It gives you a lovely opportunity to showcase both your sewing and baking in one picture!

You could use this image:

  • In your Tropical Gingerbread recipe post.

  • In your Christmas sewing projects post.

  • On Pinterest or Facebook.

  • As a seasonal feature linking your two blog interests.

One little suggestion: Add a caption beneath the photograph:

“A little Christmas sewing and homemade baking! My handmade Mini Christmas Quilt placemat makes a festive setting for serving my Tropical Gingerbread.”

I think this is a lovely way to bring your handmade creations into your recipe blog posts. ❤️

Thank you! Beautiful!❤

You're very welcome! ❤️ I'm so glad you like it!

Your handmade Christmas placemat deserves to be shown off, and pairing it with your Tropical Gingerbread makes such a lovely holiday presentation.

A little sewing, a little baking, and a whole lot of Christmas warmth! 🎄🥰
