Banana
Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients
1½
cups flour
1
cup sugar
½ teaspoon
baking soda
1
teaspoon salt
1
teaspoon nutmeg
¾ teaspoon
cinnamon
¾ cup
shortening
1
egg (beaten)
1
cup mashed bananas
1¾
cups rolled quick oats
½ cup
chopped nuts
1
teaspoon vanilla
Method
1.
Cream shortening and sugar until light
and fluffy.
2.
Beat in egg.
3.
Sift together the flour, soda, salt and
spices.
4.
Add to creamed mixture with rolled oats,
mashed banana, vanilla and nuts.
5.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie
sheets.
6.
Bake at 350° about 15 minutes.
7.
Makes 4 dozen.
