Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
3 tablespoons
margarine
3 tablespoons
shortening
1 egg
¼ cup + 2 tablespoons
sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 cup + 2
tablespoons flour
½ teaspoon baking
powder
¼ teaspoon salt
Method
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease cookie sheet. Cream butter, shortening and
sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Fold in the flour, baking powder and salt. Take a teaspoon of batter and form into balls,
roll into sugar. Place on cookie sheet
and press with either a fork or glass. Bake
for approximately 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Optional: Divide mixture into fourth and roll out one ¼
at a time on a lightly floured surface to 1/8 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters and sprinkle with
colored sugar. Place carefully on
greased baking sheet.
