Whole
Wheat Baking Powder Biscuits
Ingredients
1¼
cups flour
¾ cups
whole wheat flour
3
teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon
baking soda
½
teaspoon salt
1½
teaspoon sugar
4
tablespoons shortening
1
egg mixed with ½ cup milk
Optional: ¼ cup
golden raisins
Method
1.
Mix flours, baking powder, baking soda,
salt and shortening together.
2.
Add milk and egg – mixture should be
stiff.
3.
Roll out and cut in to biscuits.
4.
Makes 12 biscuits.
5.
Bake at 400° for 10 minutes.
To make cheese biscuits add ½ cup grated cheese to
dry ingredients.
