Powder Biscuits
Ingredients
2
cups all-purpose flour
1
tablespoon baking powder
½
teaspoon salt
¼
cup butter
3
tablespoons shortening
About
¾ cup milk
Method
1.
Preheat oven to 450°F.
2.
Grease baking sheet.
3.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt into
medium bowl. Using pastry blender or 2
knives, cut in butter and shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4.
Stir in enough milk to make soft dough.
5.
Turn out onto lightly floured surface.
6.
Knead dough lightly.
7.
Roll out ½ inch-thick.
8.
Cut biscuit rounds with 2-inch cutter.
9.
Place on greased baking sheet
10.
Bake 8 – 10 minutes or until browned.
