Chocolate Chip Sugar Cookies

 CHOCOLATE CHIP SUGAR COOKIES

















Chocolate Chip Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

½ cup butter
½ cup vegetable shortening
1 cups sugar
1 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon nutmeg
2 ½ - 3 cups flour
1 teaspoon orange rind
¾ cup Chocolate Chips

Optional:  Sprinkles

Method

1.                  Preheat oven to 350°.
2.                  Prepare and grease cookie sheets.
3.                  Sift flour, baking soda, and nutmeg together; set aside.
4.                  Cream butter and sugar.
5.                  Add eggs and vanilla.
6.                  Add orange rind.
7.                  Add dry ingredients.
8.                  Fold in chocolate chips.
9.                  Divide dough in half and form into ball.  Roll out to about ¼ inch thick and cut out with desired cookie cutter.  Sprinkle with desired sprinkles.
10.              Bake for approximately 10 minutes or until done and nicely brown.
11.              Remove immediately from baking sheet onto a wire rack.
12.              Cool completely and serve accordingly.  Store in an air tight container.

Coconut Bars

 SEASON'S GREETINGS

COCONUT BARS 






Coconut Bars

Coconut Diamonds

Ingredients

6 tablespoons butter, softened
¼ cup granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup flaked coconut
¼ cup coarsely chopped walnuts

Method

1.               Cream together butter, ¼ cup sugar and ¼ teaspoon salt.
2.               Stir in 1 cup flour.
3.               Pat onto bottom of 9x9x2-inch pan.
4.               Bake at 350 ºF for 15 minutes or till lightly browned.
5.               Meanwhile, beat eggs slightly; add vanilla.
6.               Gradually add brown sugar, beating just till blended.
7.               Add 2 tablespoons flour and ½ teaspoon salt.  Stir in coconut and nuts.
8.               Spread over baked layer.
9.               Bake 20 minutes longer or till wooden pick comes out clean.
10.           Cool.  Cut in diamonds.
11.           Makes 1 ½ dozen.

Chocolate Brownies - Fudge Brownies


CHOCOLATE BROWNIES
FUDGE BROWNIES












Fudge Brownies

Ingredients

½ cup butter or margarine
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
½ cup sifted all-purpose flour

Method

1.                  Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla; beat in eggs. 
2.                  Blend in chocolate.
3.                  Stir in flour and nuts.
4.                  Bake in greased 8x8x2-inch pan in a slow oven (325°F) for 30 to 35 minutes.  Cool
5.                  Cut in 16 squares.

Rich, chewy brownies – great with milk.

Peanut Butter Cookies - Bars



PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES - BARS











Peanut Butter Cookies - Bars

Ingredients

½ cup butter or margarine
½ cup peanut butter
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 egg
½ teaspoon vanilla
1¼ cup sifted all-purpose flour
¾ teaspoon soda
¼ teaspoon salt

Method

1.                  Thoroughly cream butter, peanut butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.
2.                  Sift together dry ingredients; blend into creamed mixture.
3.                  Shape in 1-inch balls; roll in granulated sugar.
4.                  Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
5.                  Press 5 peanut halves atop each or crisscross with fork tines.
6.                  Bake at 375°F for 10 to 12 minutes.
7.                  Cool, slightly; remove from pan. 
8.                  Makes 4 dozen.
